I recently made my overall health and wellness a priority, again. Doing so definitely makes thriving with my condition easier. Discovering health and wellness must prioritize self-care, too, feels monumental. I am a peacemaker by nature. Conflict bothers me. I flourish best in a calm environment. Twisting myself into a pretzel for the comfort of others is where I excel. A couple of weeks ago, after a particularly emotional day I remembered fundamental truths I want to share with you all.
- Doing your best is good enough no matter what anybody tells you
- Tears are perfectly fine/healthy. They are not weakness; instead, they are a sign of strength and being alive and feeling.
- When someone lashes out at you, it is probably not about you, you are just the off ramp for that hurting person’s pain. Do not stop being who are because someone finds fault/does not understand your uniqueness and worth
On the days the situation above occurs; because it will as part of our collative humanity self care is essential. Here are some of the ways I show myself care on those days after the tears:
- praying
- drinking water
- washing my face with my Clarisonic and Purity Made Simple
- exercising
- remembering to eat giving my body real food instead of junk
- doing nothing
- a deep conversation with someone I love
- reading via my Kindle or audible apps
- moisturizing my face
- doing Rockstar glam for myself
- getting space when I feel myself getting upset/stressed.
- singing out my feelings
- writing in my journal
I hope this blog post is helpful to all of you and your loved ones. Life is hard, messy, beautiful, and worth it as is every human. On the difficult days: remember the world needs you/your gifts/talents in it.
