Why Being Grateful is Vitally important This Christmas

As I type this, it is three days before Christmas and Hanukkah just ended yesterday. I find myself needing to stay present and feeling immense gratitude for what this season means, and the hope it brings. This season looks different, drastically, then other holiday seasons for me and my immediate family. just because the season looks different doesn’t mean that it is without love for each other and for the people that are important to us and have rallied around our family in ways we can never express proper gratitude fur. But it doesn’t mean I’m not going to try.

The meaning of the season, for me, as a follower of Christ definitely carries more weight this year. I am hyper aware of what this season of advent means to all of us to follow Christ more than I ever have before. I find myself in awe of what Jesus did for humanity, for me, when he was born a human baby. I’m so grateful he never says “ you are too far gone and not worth it.“

Here and no particular order or other stuff I’m grateful for this year.

1. my parents love for me: it is unconditional and humbling I love you both just as much, always.

2. Coco: with her unconditional love and energy. She just wants to see me smile and love her. I can’t help but smile when I’m around her I know she loves me just as much as I love her dearly.

3. The rest of my blood family: thank y’all for loving me the way you do… even though I know it can be difficult to see me as anything other than a kid because I was for so long in terms of birth order.

4. My chosen family: thank you for loving me when you don’t have to, and for helping me navigate this incredibly difficult to have in my life and in our lives, we appreciate you every, single, one for all your help and encouragement. We love each of you.

5. I’m grateful for all of you to read my blog posts and watch my videos last but certainly not least… without each and every one of you the community we’re building together would not exist. I’m grateful for the opportunities presenting themselves to me and the ones that I don’t know about yet we’re just getting started y’all and I couldn’t be more excited for what to come. Stay tuned y’all.
