Author’s Note: I have been very sick for weeks. It was a sinus infection and mild bronchitis that took a long time to get over. I appreciate your patience. I feel much better. I hope you all had a joyous holiday season with those you love.
2023 was a difficult year in my life in a lot of ways. It was also the best in some ways. Both are true statements. The biggest lesson this year? Both light and dark exist in life and most of the time they coexist. Some of my year I documented here. A lot I didn’t. I want 2024 to be joyous for us all. I feel we all need it. If you lost love ones this year: please know I share your grief and you are not alone. I want this blog to be a place where you are: seen, heard, loved, and valued simply as you are.
I don’t make resolutions anymore because I always break them. I call them challenges or goals instead. I’m calling them challenges in 2024. Here mine are in no particular order:
- Exercise regularly
- Eat as healthy as possible
- Drink plenty of water
- Be present every day
- Find stuff to be grateful for daily
- Tell the people I love I do often
- Not be so hard on myself
- Keep learning
- Continue to be brave and honest with all of you in a way I am comfortable with
- Keep having a positive mindset as much as possible
- Make the conscious choice/effort to slow down and breathe every day
- Remember to value real connection with the people I love
- Plenty of sleep and rest
- Do NOT work too hard. Listen to my body
- Be open to opportunities God gives me and take them as they present themselves
- Do NOT shove my feelings down. Feel it all. It’s my super power. My story comes from my empathic gift. Sensitivity is NOT weakness no matter what anybody says
- Be brave and take chances.
- See the best in people and myself
- Love even more
- Be even more kind to myself and others
Now it’s your turn, y’all! What are your challenges to yourself for 2024?
I am adopting your list as well! You are an inspiration. I love reading your posts and thank you for your words.
