A conversation early this morning with one of my chosen brothers inspired this blog post. He always pushes me to think, do better, and be better. He wants me to live up to my purpose and potential and will not accept any effort less than my best to do just that. I told him that a few weeks ago, I needed to feel better emotionally and get into a better headspace and frame of mind. We talked about all the ways I had been doing just that. I thought I would share them with y’all in no order below.
- Limiting my time on social media: I do my best to keep my social media usage limited to this blog’s social media. I do not constantly scroll on social media even if it is this blog’s accounts.
- Unfollowing accounts on social media as needed
- Continuing to learn to set better boundaries, enforce them, and actually doing so
- Limiting my TV watching until what I need to do is done for the day. I do work with streaming platforms on during the day, sometimes; but only if whatever I am working with on, in the background, is a concert or a musical I purchased or have access to via subscription.
- I removed all apps from my phone that I do not need, or are taking up too much of my time in a non productive/non healthy way
- Leaving my phone on do not disturb and in my pocket as much as possible unless I am going out of my apartment during the day
- Keep opening up to the people who love and know me best and allow them to do likewise
- Continuing to make my self care, health, wellness, and wholeness a priority
