By In honor of National Siblings Day last week, I want to honor the people who love me, but do not have to. I was not born with siblings I get to choose mine. I am the most blessed.
My chosen brother and journey partner: where would I be without you? I shutter to think. We met when we were babies. Since we were 15 you have been my friend. In 2011 you became my brother by God’s design. You see me the way Kirk did. Yes, I know what I just said. The compliment is real and profound. It is the privilege of my life to be your sister. I love you so much and am so very proud of you.
My oldest friendship who became my chosen sister because our mama’s taught us how. I love you so much. I am in awe of your strength and resilience. Your faith is unwavering and inspiring. Thank you for letting me love you and your babies.
