I love my mama very much. When she gave birth to me about eight weeks early because of listeria we weren’t supposed to make it through delivery because of infection. We’re both still here. That fact is quite literally a miracle. Because of our circumstances we have a very unique bond.
Mama teaches me to live a life of faith by example. She teaches me to treat others with respect and dignity the same way. Mama always suggest then I focus on my blessings when I’m discouraged. However, she of all people knows how difficult dealing with CP is for me some days. Mama is perfectly OK with letting me cry to her when I have difficult CP days. I am more than a little grateful for that.
Mama teaches me to be a condition warrior because she is too. This last year has been exceptionally hard for her. It looks like there’s light at the end of the tunnel though and Mama I’m going to be there every step of the way for you the same way you have always been for me. We’ll get through this together. I promise.
Mama I love you for everything you’ve done for me and continue to do for me. You’re not just my mom you’re my friend and even when we don’t agree, I have your back just like you have mine. I am so grateful that you’re my mom. Thank you for showing me the way. Thank you for lighting a path for me. I hope I make you proud every day because I’m proud to be your daughter. Thank you for all of it every day. I love you.
Love, love, love,
Stace
