I want to apologize to all of you for the lack of blog posts for the last couple of weeks. I have been not feeling well and have been trying to take care of myself as best as I possibly can. Running a fever every evening was only one of my symptoms. Yes, i ran a fever for two weeks. At the end of last week I knew it was time to call my doctor. I had an appointment on Monday. A light case of bronchitis and a severe sinus infection was my diagnosis. Now I am on medicine to help me feel better and I am starting to.
What is it like being sick and having CP? I thought I would try and explain it to all of you. My kind of CP effects all four of my limbs. I have too much muscle tone in my body essentially. My balance is toddler like at best. These are things I deal with every day. When I am sick, I get more fatigued than usual. When I get sick, I know my body needs more rest than others, so I try to slow down and give my body what it needs.
Coughing makes my muscles tight, and they hurt. This pain can lead to muscle spasms. I have the doctor prescribed muscle relaxers if that happens, and I take 1/2 as needed. My lungs are always a concern when I get sick because I am more prone to pneumonia than most people because I sit more than other people. It is always a good idea to go get checked out in person so the doctor can hear my lungs. Pneumonia would mean breathing treatments in addition to antibiotics, but thankfully that was not the case this time.
Hopefully I will continue to feel better, and I should be back to a regular schedule of blog posts next week. Thank you all for your patience and kindness I appreciate all of you More than I can say.
Feel better soon Stacey! Sending you love & healing (from Australia)
Thank you so very much!
